  • Doesn't the US still have 40,000 troops over there? There have been huge protests over US bases in Japan.

  • they probably studied the boat, so they could build a new boat of their own, and even though there was much to learn from this submarine, they knew it would be too costly and risky to transport a top secret submarine all the way back to the states.

  • @rctsos yup japanese are also known for secrelty dumping radioactive waste water from the broken reactor towards korea and china. the japs are really nice people.

    Japan did the same thing making the imitations of European, and American products in the 60s and 70s. Then they become start enough to do their own product in the 80s.

  • Das wƤre mir komplett neu. Im 1. WK haben Fluzeuge nicht die groƟe Rolle gespielt. Und die "Bachstelze" ist nicht wirklich als Flugzeug zu bezeichnen. Aber ich lasse mich gerne belehren. Hast du eine Quelle?

  • @SuperSkeptiker: das waren nicht die ersten U-boot FlugzeugtrƤger. Die Deutschen hatten sowas schon im ersten Weltkrieg - vom zweiten ganz zu schweigen.
