@rctsos yup japanese are also known for secrelty dumping radioactive waste water from the broken reactor towards korea and china. the japs are really nice people.

Das wäre mir komplett neu. Im 1. WK haben Fluzeuge nicht die große Rolle gespielt. Und die "Bachstelze" ist nicht wirklich als Flugzeug zu bezeichnen. Aber ich lasse mich gerne belehren. Hast du eine Quelle?

@SuperSkeptiker: das waren nicht die ersten U-boot Flugzeugträger. Die Deutschen hatten sowas schon im ersten Weltkrieg - vom zweiten ganz zu schweigen.

they probably studied the boat, so they could build a new boat of their own, and even though there was much to learn from this submarine, they knew it would be too costly and risky to transport a top secret submarine all the way back to the states.
